I have now read contradictory things. On the one hand they say the pen can be charged (e.g. on the Surface 7 Pro) via USB C (by plugging the pen into the USB C port), on the other hand I read the pen can only be charged with the special charger on older devices... which is true now?

Hello,

This pen can only be charged using a wireless charger, or in the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard for the SPX/SP8. The pen cannot even be used without the charger as it turns on when charged for the first time.
