Garmin Index S2 Smart Scale
181.40 kg
I have not been able to get the scales to work so that the weight is transferred to the Garmin Connect app under my name. I have tried everything. Including a software update and followed exactly the same procedure as described on the Garmin support page. The software download does not work (there are no progress bars). I called Garmin. They couldn't help me and sent me a new scale. I have exactly the same problem with the new scale. I can connect it to Wi-Fi and can connect it to the Garmin Connect app via Bluetooth. Everything looks fine, but the scale doesn't find my profile (username) and doesn't transfer the weight to the app. Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try? I'm extremely annoyed because I've spent hours on it in total.
Hello Lars
I also had the problem that I had switched off my WLAN overnight. Then the scale could not reconnect the next morning. Since I switched it off, the connection has been working.
Have you entered anything in the Connect app under Garmin devices -> Index S2 -> Display -> Displayed name (3 digits)?
Good luck

I have now been able to solve the problem as follows: The Index S2 ONLY works with a 2.4 GHz WLAN. However, mine is set to support both 2.4 and 5 GHz at the same time. The solution: I have set up a separate, new WLAN which is only set to 2.4 GHz. Now it works.
This is extremely weird because...
I had been using the Index S1 for many years. A few months ago, it suddenly stopped transmitting the weight data to Connect. I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I thought it had broken and so I bought the S2 (this purchase). I couldn't get it to work. Garmin Support couldn't help me and quickly replaced the new scale. With the replacement device I had the problem described above, which I have now solved myself.
Conclusion: The old S1 would probably have done its job for many more years if I had found out from Garmin that the problem was caused by a software upgrade and my WLAN (which has always supported 2.4 and 5).
Now I have a brand new S2 and need a separate WLAN for it.
Heieiei. I now have 4 Garmin devices:
- Edge 1030 bike satnav, which doesn't work reliably to follow tours downloaded from the internet with turn navigation
- Swim Smartwacht 2, which doesn't measure the distance correctly when lane swimming in the pool (sometimes too much, sometimes too little) and doesn't record the route correctly when open water swimming in the lake/sea
- Index Waage S2, which only works with an "old" WLAN
- Heart rate monitor, which works perfectly.
Phew.
Is the scale displayed in the Garmin app? If not, I would think it is not connected properly, I bought the scale years ago and it works great with the Garmin app.
