I have an old Compaq/HP 2510p. I would like to replace the very slow hard drive with an SSD. Would this one fit?
Hello Andreas No, it does not work with this hard disk. The Kingston SSDNow KC380 has an S-ATA interface, but the HP 2510p still has an old PATA disk with a special ZIF flat ribbon cable. There used to be suitable SSDs from Mach Extreme with a ZIF connection (60/120/240GB), but they are no longer in the Digitec range and were not really cheap. But to be honest, upgrading to such an SSD is not really worth it either, since the limiting component is the PATA/ZIF interface and the laptop only gets marginally faster even with the switch to such an SSD.
