I have an old Acer Aspire 5750G-2678G50Mnkk with 500GB HDD since 2012. Could I replace the HDD with the Crucial MX300 (1050GB) SSD without any problems? Is it worth it at all or should I buy a new notebook? I only need the notebook for office applications (university), YouTube/Netflix and very light (indie) gaming.
I have updated a similar notebook. It was worth it from my point of view. I would do it again.
I agree with the previous comments. Switching to an SSD is definitely worthwhile, the performance is noticeably better and the hard drive can also be installed in a new generation device without any problems. The copy software supplied did not work for me, but with the free tool HDClone it was child's play.
I have already replaced the HDD with an SSD on several computers, always with positive results (starting up, opening programmes, loading times for games). I can only recommend it. Once purchased, the SSD can also be used again in other laptops / desktops in case of a device change.
