I have an existing Devolo dLan 1200+ (without WiFi). I would like to install an additional WiFi extension to cover a location without a socket and transfer the WiFi settings of the existing router with Clone or Move (same SSID, password). - Is it enough to buy a WiFi extension or do I also need a base unit with WiFi (base unit without WiFi is installed)? - Do I then have something like a mesh (Router dLan 1200+ Wifi)?

It is enough to buy only one extension unit. You can clone the WLAN settings and clients can use the same SSID and password, but this does not create a mesh because the main router and the extension unit do not communicate with each other and, for example, hand over the clients for a clean handover or automatically synchronise the password when they change.
