Yes, it supports ddr4. It's a ok choice. It would recommended to get 4x16 set with 3200mhz. Since 64gb is max this board can support it may not work just with 2 sticks. This motherboard may have problems with setting xmp to 3600mhz as I have found after quick Google search. Bios update may be needed if u will encounter this problem. And since it is older board u already should have latest bios there. If it's not for server use or working on big files like 3D files, CAD work I would go with 32gb witch would be enought for browsing and gaming. You won't have big noticable performance difference if that is your goal.
