Question about Pro-Ject Phono Box

I have a preamplifier in which the phono pre-amp is defective. AUX is occupied for the CD player. Could I connect the Pro-Ject Phono Box to the TAPE input or would this be worse than AUX in terms of quality?

In principle, you should be able to use any input, as they are technically the same. With the tape input, there are only 2 additional outputs so that you can also record. But I'm no expert...
