I have a Lenovo Yoga 12, if the drivers are installed, shouldn't the Surface pen also work for my Lenovo?

I think the pen only works with the Surface 3, Pro3 and Pro 4.

In any case, you have to pay attention to whether the device is designed for active pens (like Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4) or for passive pens (like Surface Pro, Surface Pro 2 or e.g. most Samsung tablets). On a device that is designed for active pens, the passive pens will also work (works no differently than writing with fingers), but without pressure levels. I can't say what the drivers look like, but on the Surface Pro 4 the Surface Pen is also "paired" via Bluetooth, which as far as I know enables additional functions such as the opening of OneNote when clicking on the "eraser" - the pen is recognised before pairing and you can write with it, but OneNote cannot be opened yet... I would always test this beforehand to be sure, I think it should be recognisable even without installation. Maybe Digitec has one in the showroom for you to try out.
