Kensington VeriMark Guard

Question about Kensington VeriMark Guard

I can't get the thing to work under Windows 11. "No ... compatible fingerprint scanner found". Kensington support couldn't even tell me how to find out if the thing is broken. Tested on 2 laptops, identical behaviour. Is there any LED or can I find the sensor in the device manager when it has been recognised? I don't see an LED or find anything in the device manager. Apparently there are no additional drivers to install.

The K64709WW kensignton fingerprint key has an LED: it is the "white locK symbol" visible on the top side of the digitec image.
I have not tested it with windows 11, but on windows 10 this key appears under: "USB Input Device / HID-compatible fido", and NOT under "Biometric devices".
My understanding is that this key is NOT compatible with windows signing, but is compatible with FIDO2 via browsers.
There are a few sites that allow you to test a fido2 key with your browser, e.g. https://www.token2.com/tools...
Most recent browser support FIDO2 authentication via USB HID, without any driver installation.

Had the same problem . It is an absolute pain in the arse. I got it to work after many attempts but it works at best twice out of three times .
three times two times at best . replaced it with a fifteen-franc one from ALI . That works right away and always works !
