Question about Garmin vivosmart 4

I bought this watch for my daughter and therefore want to install it via the PC and not via the app. But the PC does not recognise the watch. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Garmin Express is up to date and the watch is also just new, so I don't suspect it's the driver...!?
