I bought this power supply unit about 2 months ago and the system is running perfectly. However, there is one detail that really makes me wonder. This is the first power supply unit I have installed where I still have a red glowing CMOS lamp on the mainboard despite switching the switch off. So there is still power. Is this normal?

Helpful answer

No, this is not normal, no matter what settings you have in the mainboard. After switching the switch to Off, there is a complete disconnection from the mains. This means that there is absolutely no more power.
If, as in your case, your CMOS lamp still lights up, the switch does not properly disconnect the line and current still flows through.

After switching the switch, it should be as if you disconnect the plug.

Not seeing this on mine - got a picture of what you are seeing ? May well be mobo-dependent.

I imagine you've also changed your motherboard? For the LED to go out you need to find the setting in the BIOS. (low power mode)

This is perfectly normal.
