Question about Pioneer SPH-DA77DAB

I bought this car radio for my VW T5 2004 California Comfortline (often also found under Multivan). Unfortunately, the original cage does not fit into the opening of the additionally purchased cover, nor into the 2-DIN large opening of the T5. As the radio has a 1-DIN body, I wonder whether a universal cage can be attached to this radio?

I fitted the radio to a VW T5 van and everything's fine...

I have mounted the radio instead of the original cage with two brackets and screws (Alfa Giulietta) this only works if the cover can be mounted over everything at the end.
