I bought the SSD and was really looking forward to it, but I can't use it on my MacBook because I installed the latest possible update, namely Big Sur, and it doesn't recognise the hard drive when I create the back up.
So if you want to install the SSD you need High Sierra or older! This is also stated on the enclosed info sheet. What a pity!

I don't know what you've done wrong, but I'm running monterey. And my packaging says hight sierra or later (i.e. newer).

Have you tried to install an old OSX version with a  bootable usb? And then update to Big Sur?
