Question about AVM FRITZ!Box 7690 (DE-Version)

I bought the Fritzbox a few weeks ago and am generally very happy with it. It's really good, especially in terms of speed. What is a bit annoying, however, are the brief disconnections of the Internet connections. This is apparently a known problem - as I have read on the net. AVM advises the following: 1. click on "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface. 2. click on "Access data" in the "Internet" menu 3. click on "Change connection settings". 4. activate the option "Permanently hold (recommended for flat rate tariffs)". If the option is not displayed, the FRITZ!Box already establishes the Internet connection permanently. 5. 5. click on "Apply" to save the settings. Unfortunately, I really can't find this option in the Fritzbox - and so there should be no interruptions. But this is not the case. It still interrupts at least 1-2 times a day. Usually at the same time. Can anyone give me a tip? I would be very grateful. LG

Hello,

It's a pity to read that you keep experiencing short Internet disconnections with your newly purchased FRITZ!Box 7690.
As the steps you have pointed out have not led to a solution or could not be implemented, there is probably another cause of the error that cannot be named ad hoc. We would therefore be happy to take a closer look at this problem.

Please contact us directly by e-mail at socialmedia(at)avm(dot)de. Please include the ticket ID #6515054 in your enquiry so that we can allocate your support ticket more quickly.

Kind regards from Berlin
Your AVM team

Hello Simon

Thank you for your feedback. I have already clarified this option with my provider. He does not do this. So it must be due to the Fritzbox. Because I didn't have this problem with the old 7590. It has only appeared since I got the new 7690. Unfortunately, I had to replace the 7590 :-(

The interruptions depend on the service provider and also on the FritzBox. Many ISPs assign a new dynamic address to the router (Fritzbox) once every 24 hours. This can lead to a short interruption (seconds). There are options for fixed IP's so that there is no change. If there are several interruptions per day, the DSL setting Stability/Performance can be used to set fewer interruptions at the expense of performance. If none of this helps, please create a service ticket with your Internet service provider.
