I bought the 6X Pro Spphire about 5 months ago. Unfortunately, the heart rate monitor on the watch doesn't really work reliably. Sometimes the values are too high, then again too low. According to the watch, I run with an average pulse rate of 105 on a ski tour, but when I use my Polar I get 135, which is certainly the right value. For me, the watch has no value. All software updates have been carried out. What can be done?
This is a well-known problem and has been discussed in various forums. The built-in heart rate monitor is reasonably accurate for everyday use, but very inaccurate for sporting activities. For this, you need an external heart rate monitor that you wear around your chest. The various models can be paired with the Fenix without any problems. This is not a Garmin problem, by the way. All other providers that use the same measuring technology on the wrist are similarly inaccurate. To cut a long story short: the only solution to your problem is to buy a heart rate monitor belt for the chest.
This is not only the case with Garmin. If you want accurate values, you can't get around the chest strap.
