be quiet! 12VHPWR
I bought a 4090 and the 12vhpwr has 4 strands. It seems that 3 wires are enough and the 4th can be left unplugged. The cable here now even has only 2 strands, is this enough to run a 4090? I find this whole PSU cable thing extremely confusing, even with the help of Google.
Hello schnibbi77, it depends on how many 12vhpwr connections your card has. If it is one, then one cable is sufficient, as you plug two connectors into the power supply and one into the graphics card. If there are two 12vhpwr connections, then 4 connections must be occupied at the power supply unit so that a maximum of 600w can come. With only one connection at the power supply unit, the 12hpwr cable will not work.
