I am a student and am looking for a cheap second laptop. Is this laptop fast enough to run programs like eclipse or Matlab?
If you don't mind working with a Linux operating system, a slightly weaker/cheaper laptop will do.
It's not even fast enough to open the devtools in IE 11 in a reasonable time (< 5s). We bought it in our office to test it. What can I say. IE11/Win10 in Browserstack (Flash!) in Chrome on the Mac is faster than this mill.
Unfortunately, I cannot judge how well this works. However, the system requirements are met. In any case, I wouldn't expect too much for the price here if you have certain demands. However, I would personally recommend at least an i3 processor and not a Celeron processor. The following product would be a better alternative: HP 250 G6 (15.6", HD, Intel Core i3-5005U, 4GB, SSD)
PS: Define sufficiently fast...
