how is the power cable stowed away? can it be pulled into the machine or can it be stowed elsewhere?

This is not so well solved. Doesn't pull in, has to be wound round in a strange way.

Not possible in principle. What's more, the steam hose can't be stowed away anyway. However, all my household helpers are of the same opinion: an excellent iron in every respect.
