How fast is the release function? I have found 0.3 seconds for comparable products, but I can't find any information on this product.

I'm not quite sure if I understood the question correctly, but if you mean the detection delay of the cam? according to the manual, this can be set between 5 seconds and 1 hour!
That's right, the minimum setting is 5 seconds. However, the camera definitely triggers faster for me. I would say it's more like 0.5 seconds.
