you can deactivate the LED so that it no longer lights up or flashes.
You can switch off the LED with the following settings:
Please press the (quick settings) button on the remote control, select [Settings] - [System] - [LED display] - and deactivate [Operating response].

Sony Europe

This (LED backlight) is the screen technology. As far as I know, this should always be active.
