If you search online: The power supply has information about output voltage (e.g. 6V) and output current (e.g. 800mAh). This must be identical on the new power supply unit. Then the plug must have exactly the same dimensions in millimetres on the inside and outside and plus/minus must be the same, i.e. either on the inside (usually plus) or on the outside of the plug.
