Question about Samsung 990 Pro with Heatsink
Hi all Does anyone also have the problem with the 84°C? My Unraid constantly reports that the hard disc is at 84°C. I have already updated the FW to the latest version - no improvement. Any other ideas?
Well, 80°C should not really be exceeded with an SSD. From 70°C, data integrity and endurance are already impaired. You should not operate them constantly above 80°C.
Whether it's a read error by Unraid or the SSD has a problem or is not getting enough cooling remains to be seen. I would remove the SSD and test it under Win with Samsung Magician. Then it will become clear relatively quickly where the problem lies.
Is an airflow perhaps missing? It still has to get some air, but otherwise the temperatures are not wild, depending on the environment. And not dangerous either.
