Question about Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro

Hi all, would they (or the normal 6K) also be suitable for taking simple event photos or portraits, besides video use of course? The question came up because a very old DSLR equipment is to be replaced for business. And it is not obligatory to rely on classic DSLR brands with a "sufficiently high video quality" for additional video use. Thank you for tips, maybe from newcomers =)
