Hello Why is the Xiaomi E-Scooter Essential not authorised in Switzerland and the Mi Essential is? What is the difference between the vehicles? Greetings Marcel

Hello, so as far as I know both are approved in Switzerland, but you should note that it depends mainly on the "brake system" in Germany, for example, an escooter is only approved if the scooter has a * MOTOR brake system* and also a normal brake. In some countries it is also decisive whether the tyres are pneumatic or hard rubber. There are a few things you should pay attention to because the penalties can be very expensive in no time at all 🤷‍♂️und nobody wants that 😉

As far as I know, both are authorised in Switzerland. Vehicles that travel at 20 km/h and have a maximum output of 500 W are authorised for public transport and do not require type approval or a licence plate.
