Helpful answer

Wrong John-B. He asked what the difference was between a hard drive made specifically for NAS, and those made specifically for a desktop computer. You can never plug a simple hard drive into the network. You gave him the definition of a NAS and he didn't ask that.

Here is a site explaining the difference between the different hard drives (for the Western Digital brand): http://www.antoineguilbert.fr/western-di...

Okay but it depends on where you use it right? In the sense that whether it's a "desktop" or "NAS" HDD in Digitec's description, if you put a "desktop" HDD in a NAS it will do the same job or is there a specific specification?

Nas you can connect it to a network to access it remotely!
