yes, it's no problem with the apple hdmi adapter. i've done it many times. funny, i didn't know about apple. i think i've already beamed rented films...

Hello, the simple answer: Yes, of course, with an adapter on the iPhone/iPad to HDMI. The more complicated answer: It depends on the app of the iPhone/iPad whether the function via "cable" is fully supported. Most streaming apps support this, but Apple itself does not allow the playback of purchased/rented videos (via Apple app) via a projector for legal reasons, for example. So brief summary: Zattoo, Netflix, VLC etc. = no problem.
