I have recently purchased the Suunto 9 Baro. What happens if I buy this heart rate belt and I don't take the watch with me when I go jogging, apart from the heart rate being recorded, will the steps taken also be counted at the end?

Hey hey,
The strap only works in addition to the watch. It doesn't have a chip or anything and doesn't record anything on its own, but simply sends the heart rate to the watch.
