Question about Samsung 970 EVO Plus

Hello, I bought this SSD with an enclosure and I plan to install it in an "Icy Box IB-183WP-C31" enclosure. When in Windows10 I try with the disk manager to create a partition I get an error message: "Request failed due to a severe hardware error of the device." Is there an incompatibility between the box and the SSD or is it coming from my Surface Book 1? Thank you for your insight.
