Question about Gigabyte GC-TPM2.0 SPI 2.0
Hello together I'm planning to upgrade my PC to Windows 11, but of course I don't have the TPM 2.0. I've installed the Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2 in my PC and have the appropriate interface for the module. Do I have to activate the module somewhere in the BIOS or should this be recognised automatically? Kind regards Pascal Amstutz
It is not absolutely necessary to have TPM in hardware for Windows 11. You probably already have TPM in your system and only need to activate it in the BIOS if this is not already the case.

Besides physical TPM modules, there are also fTPM (firmware TPM, called PTT at Intel).
Intel and AMD have been integrating TPM in version 2.0 into CPUs for several years. In order to be able to use this, the BIOS of the PC/notebook must support it and it must also be activated there.

Before buying a TPM module for the mainboard, which may be unnecessary, you should check whether the possibility of fTPM / PTT via CPU is possible in the BIOS and whether this only needs to be activated.
