Hello, my HP Proliant ML350 Gen9 used to have WD Blue 500GB installed. When expanding the capacity, I decided in favour of WD Red 2TB. After installing the first Red SDD, I noticed that the fans were running at 100% for a certain period of time. Research has shown that the power consumption of the 2TB Red is 3 watts and that of the 2TB Blue is 0.3 watts, which explains the howling of the fans. According to the technical data from Galaxus, the Blue 2TB have a power consumption of 0.3 watts. According to the manufacturer, however, they have 3 watts. Before buying the WD BLUE 2TB, I would like to know whether the information from Digitec is correct and binding. Thank you very much

Hello, On the box it doesn't say consumption but on the WD site it's 0.1 to 3w depending on the demand https://products.wdc.com/library...

I recently installed this WD Blue in an Acer Aspire ES1-731 (for my son). This 8 year old laptop has a fan, but it hasn't "whined" since and spins about the same (or not at all) as with the original hard drive installed.
However, I don't know whether it consumes 3 watts or only 0.3 watts.
