Question about Meta Rift VR + Touch

Hello, I'm really tempted to buy a Rift but I still need some info. For an optimal tracking, how should the sensors be placed? At the top, at the bottom, in front, behind, on the side ... ? Do the sensors work wirelessly or do they have to be connected?
