Hello, no passive speakers can be connected to this device. Only active speakers via the XLR output, or via analogue: (RCA), digital: Coaxial S/PDIF (1x), Optical TOSLINK (1x), XLR (2x), HDMI (1x). So you need a power amplifier. Eversolo has one on sale (https://www.eversolo.com/Product...) but I have no experience with it. I'm very happy with the device (DMP-A6), I mainly use it for HI-RES music playback from a NAS. Very good sound (supports practically every audio format, FLAC was important for me), large display with touch function. Can also be controlled via teachable infrared remote control (Logitech Harmonie etc.) (most important functions) or complete operation via mobile app. Top device, I can only recommend it, provided of course that you have an amplifier. This device turns my Revox amplifier from the 80s back into a super system that leaves practically nothing to be desired. Greetings newobiwan

No passive speakers directly. Eversolo has a preamplifier built in, but no amplifier. If you have an amplifier + passive speaker configuration, you cannot use the Eversolo directly instead of an amplifier.
In my case I have active speakers, which means that they each have one (or more) amplifiers built in, so in this case the Eversolo can be connected directly. However, direct connection is not a matter of course because active speakers usually have no volume control, i.e. audio sources such as CD players without a preamplifier cannot be connected directly, otherwise this setting would play the music at the maximum possible volume.
