Unfortunately I can't say whether the steering wheel controls can be used. But a specific adapter is certainly necessary to ensure that everything works. Don't forget to fit a dab aerial or use a splitter that transforms the signal. I installed the device in an old Toyota.

Unfortunately I can't say. My 2011 VW Polo has no steering wheel buttons and I haven't installed it yet,
