I also changed from an X670 board ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI incl. CPU upgrade 9800X3D and it was no problem if you use Bitlocker you just have to suspend it before the change, BIOS upgrade is recommended but not mandatory. I took over the RAM from the old board and the Noctua Nh-D15 cooler was also no problem.
Hi, I don't think that should be a problem. Both are AM5 board and DDR5 RAM. The only thing you have to consider and I don't know is what about the drivers for the existing hardware. That you should enquire first.
I can only tell you one thing, it was so new that the drivers for the start disc caused mega problems, we spent hours loading drivers, updating the bios etc. I bought 2 new NVRAMs because I thought it was due to compatibility. The boot disc was never recognised. Then installed a SATA with the idea that the NVRAM was a data disc, bang, SATA in, NVRAM could be recognised as a boot disc and Windows could be installed. SATA is empty and useless next to it :-).
I don't know the old mainboard. As far as I know, you need to look at DDR4 vs. DDR5 and the CPU socket in particular. If these are compatible with your old board, you should be able to convert everything. Otherwise, you'll just have to "swap" more. If you change the CPU, the CPU cooler will also no longer fit....
