Question about HPE Smart Array E208i-p SR Gen10
Has anyone tried using this raid controller with an ASUS gaming mainboard, for example? I mean PCI/PCIe is standardised. Is a firmware update possible with CLI or the Smart Storage Administrator? I want to run a Windows 2022 server and many of the raid controllers offered here are not M$ certified. This one should be. I am aware that it is a low cost entry raid controller...

I've been running an ASUS Prime B360m as an Ubuntu server for a few years without any problems.
I haven't updated the firmware yet, but it should be possible.

I have installed this controller in a Fujitusu server. It works so far. It's just a bit more difficult to get the Smart Storage Administrator to run. It worked for me via a boot medium.
You can install all the SSA tools under Windows. But without an HPE account with a suitable server, you probably won't get the latest firmware for the controller.
