Revell X-Treme Cross Storm
Has anyone had this vehicle for a while? I would like to know if there are any problems after a certain time.
It's certainly not a high-end product. We have two in use. One is still in tip-top condition, is often used and the other would also be okay, but the remote control broke.
In our case, the remote control broke down after a few days. The steering completely stops in one direction and it is no longer possible to steer in a straight line or in the other direction. It was used by an 8-year-old child - perhaps not always very gently...
I have had the vehicle for about 3 months. The battery has already had to be replaced. A shock absorber has also broken. In addition, the vehicle is susceptible to wetness (partly driven on wet grass), which means that the function has suffered. However, with a little bit of screwdriver skill, everything except the battery could be repaired by the owner.
The speed and the four-wheel drive are good. If you use more than one battery, the vehicle should cool down in between. Otherwise it will probably go up in smoke at some point. Definitely recommended for fun in between. For long time use I would rather add 100.- and order the special set Neo Fighter from Tamiya (kit) where everything is included. I also have it and it is really great.
One or two of the clips connecting the chassis and the body have been lost, otherwise the vehicle still works perfectly after ~6 months of intensive use.
