Good evening everyone. Can I also play UHD films on the PC with this Pioneer drive (BDR-XD05TB) - I already have the latest version of PowerDVD with UHD support? Thank you very much.
Unfortunately, I am not really in a position to answer this question, as I have only used my Pioneer BDR-XD05 BD/DVD/CD drive in the DVD and BD environment up to now.
PS. I didn't find any reference to UHD in the specifications (only to CD, DVD, BD).

I just did some research: Theoretically, it is already possible to read a UHD disc if the drive supports BDXL. In practice, however, this is made impossible by the firmware (or only by the firmware update). And the reason: Hollywood wants to maximise its profit - several times over. Regarding my question: The firmware of this Pioneer drive unfortunately blocks the reading of a UHD disc. Thank you very much, Hollywood.
