Good day Why is there no normal Swiss plug on the product? Thank you and best regards
Because the normal Swiss plug (type 13) with its round pins is designed for a maximum of 10A. A normal Swiss socket should be permanently loaded with a maximum of 8A. This means a charging capacity of approx. 1.84kW, so if you have a car with a 70 kWh battery, you will need 38 hours to charge from 0 to 100.
The German plug is designed for 16A and may be loaded correspondingly higher.
What you must not do under any circumstances is to get one of these one-off adapters which can only handle 10A and operate this charging station on a normal household socket. At best the fuse will blow, at worst your house will burn down. Minimum would be to get an adapter to a type 23 plug which has rectangular pins, this socket can withstand 16A but even then the 80% continuous load should be maintained.
If you have to have a socket fitted either way, then install a Schuko socket directly, this is permitted as long as there is a Swiss socket next to it.
Why don't Galaxus provide an adaptor for the non-Swiss plug?
