Question about HP Reverb G2

Good day I need these glasses exclusively for applications/games that do not require a controller. (DCS, IL2) My question: Can the glasses be installed and put into operation at all without a controller? Does anyone know? (I have no controller from a predecessor, only Ocolus Rift S) Thanks in advance!

I asked exactly the same question in the Computerbase forum a few days ago and was told by an experienced VR user that this should work without any problems. Apparently you can also simply set up the glasses for "seated use". I need the headset exclusively for sim racing and I'm curious to see if it works.

As soon as I have mine I can tell you. Since I use my Rift CV1 for DCS without a controller and the controllers are not even connected, I assume that it is possible. You probably just can't set up a guard.

HP would also be stupid to sell something that doesn't work at all..... although after the paper launch (edition 2) they can be trusted with anything ;)

I also need the glasses for SimRacing and it is not clear whether the tracking system is included in the scope of delivery.
Does anyone know?
The glasses with controller also mention tracking, but the description of the glasses without controller says nothing about tracking.

Does anyone know what the VR3000 stands for in the product name?

I'm using it without controller for DCS absolutely fantastic.
Unfortunately not able to use w/o controllers with IL2, so far...
