Does this TV really have an incredible frame rate of 3300 Hz as stated in the specifications, or could this possibly be a typo?

No, it is not a mistake.

With the Picture Quality Index (3300), Samsung does not only indicate the Hz number, because other factors such as the resolution, size of the TV etc. are also calculated.

This confuses customers when they want to compare Samsung TVs with other brands. However, when comparing Samsung TV's with Samsung TV's, one can simply say the higher the better.

Back to the question of how many Hz the TV has:
Effectively 100Hz
