Does this kettle actually need an electrical upgrade to the kitchen wiring as mentioned in the advertisement? Our kitchen is just a 13w circuit not the 16 it says it needs.

The boiler has a maximum output of 2400 watts. This means that a 13 A fuse is sufficient (with 13A, 13* 230 = 2990 watts). Theoretically and in my case also practically (I have the usual 13A fuse) there is no need for 16A.

I use this appliance without any problems with a fuse protection of 10 A on 230 V in the kitchen wiring.

I have been using this appliance for years without changing the kitchen wiring.
I didn't realise that there are different wiring systems in Switzerland.
