Does the thing need to be centred in the room somehow so that it can correctly project the image onto the wall in the centre?

Helpful answer

Not necessarily, it can easily be aligned sideways. But the best picture is achieved when the projector is in the centre. We have often not centred the projector ourselves and it works quite well.
