Does the picture frame have to be connected to the W-LAN? Or will I get an error message otherwise? I would like to place it in a household without wifi and simply change the SD card when I visit. Is this possible?

Of course, this picture frame also works without W-LAN (slide show). For the initial setup, however, it makes sense to connect it to the Internet via W-LAN, because an update of the Frameo software is certainly available.
