Does the iPad have satellite reception to navigate via an app with offline maps in the outback?
Attention, only the 4G variant has GPS, the Wi-Fi variant only has WiPS and therefore only works where there are enough mapped wi-fi, so probably not in the outback!
The iPad has GPS for satellite navigation. Offline maps are available from various providers - for a fee or free of charge. How good they are in the "outback" is something you have to find out for your specific area.
