Does "Quad Tuner" as shown in the picture mean that the unit can record 4 programmes simultaneously, or that four recording modes are supported?

Perhaps the designation was chosen somewhat inappropriately. It is not called Quad Tuner, but Quad Mode TV Tuner on the product picture. In any case, it is only a tuner that supports the 4 tuner types DVB-C, DVB-T, DVB-T2 or analogue TV. This means that only one programme can be watched, but also time-shifted.
