Depends on your CPU settings - at full power, it gets pretty hot! But I almost always use the CPU in whisper mode (still more than enough power) and everything is fine! This makes the Zenbook very flexible; from "cruising" in whisper mode to "full power" mode, everything is easily adjustable - a really very good, very light and high-quality notebook!
I only have an auto shutdown about every two months due to heat, although I don't play games or render videos. No problem as I have all my data on an external SSD and have several notebooks. Since purchase a year ago there have been several ASUS firmware updates and several W11 updates. Used notebook with ASUS DC500 TB5 docking station and ext. SSD Corsair EX100U (USB C Gen2x2). Notebook is very quiet and very fast. I am very satisfied for my purposes. I mainly use the notebook for music sound recordings with the Motu M6 interface, Audacity and an external microphone. A very quiet device is important for this. For video and sound editing, I use a notebook with ventilation slots on the side or rear so that the waste heat can be blown out of the case easily.
