Does CarPlay work wirelessly, or does the iPhone have to be plugged in via USB?
CarPlay works wirelessly with the JVC KW-M565DBT, but it's not as reliable as the wired connection. The wireless connection can be slower and more prone to interruptions, especially in areas with high Wi-Fi density. If you have an iPhone 7 or later, you can use CarPlay wirelessly with the JVC KW-M565DBT. To do this, you'll need to make sure your iPhone and car stereo are up to date with the latest software. You also need to make sure that your car radio is within 10 metres of your iPhone.
If you are having problems with the CarPlay wireless connection, you can try the following solutions:
Make sure your iPhone and car radio are up to date with the latest software.
Move your iPhone closer to your car radio.
Try restarting your iPhone and radio.
If you're still having problems, contact your headunit manufacturer for assistance.
I bought this device six months ago and was unable to establish a direct wireless connection to my iPhone. Only when I connected a dongle did it work. However, this occupied the only USB port on the device, as the message "USB hub not supported" appeared when I tried to install a hub. Otherwise, the device works perfectly. I.e. Google Maps, WhattsApp, DAB and analogue radio, hands-free system for telephone etc. work without any problems.
