Does anyone have experience of how this watch works as a navigation device when cycling, e.g. when attached to the handlebars? How easy is it to read the display? Thanks and regards.
I have no experience because I have never done this before, but I would say that the display is far too small for this as the distance from the eye to the handlebars is a bit large. I'm really happy with the Edge Explore 2 sat nav.
The display is small, but you can zoom in and out.
Nevertheless, it is unusable for me because the position arrow that shows where I am is small and a barely visible (and unadjustable) light blue colour.
To get an overview of where I am (in familiar terrain), it's enough.
To navigate in unfamiliar terrain, it is too small even with strong glasses - you simply can't see enough of your surroundings because of the small map section.
So I use Swisstopo or something similar on my mobile.
Hello, the watch fits perfectly on the handlebars with a chest electrode for heart rate.
I've done a few road bike and mountain bike rides with it. It's doable, but it's certainly a lot less practical than a real bike GPS.
