Does anyone have experience of how steep it can go uphill?

That depends on how heavy you are.
With the ES1 without the Battery Pack (which would make it the ES3), I couldn't get up the incline at the station with 100kg, so I had to support it a bit with my foot. Since the Battery Pack, however, I can get up these slopes without any problems.
