The smoke detector flashes regularly with an LED in standby mode every 6 minutes. This flashing function cannot be switched off, but it is possible to cover the LED to minimise the disturbance. Silent mode, which is activated by a long press on the surface, changes the flashing frequency of the LED to every 10 seconds, but the alarm is still triggered in the event of heavy smoke.
